A Japanese sports outlet has reported the amount of money Floyd Mayweather will make from his December showdown with Tenshin Nasukawa.
Japanese outlet Tokyo-Sport reported today that Mayweather will make a flat sum of 7 billion yen for the bout – which is would rise to an expected 10 billion yen after PPV and broadcasting figures are tallied.
10 billion yen converts roughly to about $88.4 million making it a step down from the nine-figure sum he reportedly earned from his last outing against Conor McGregor last year.
For those of you who are (understandably) confused by the news that the famed boxer will sign to fight in RIZIN, we delved into his potential motives in an article that you can find here.
Not much else is known about the fight. Floyd made it clear that the ruleset, fight-length and all of the other details will be ironed out over the course of the coming weeks so for now, we’ll just have to be content to sit in the dark and wait for more info on perhaps the most bizarre announcement of the year.
