Mayweather Claims He Is Returning To Fight Pacquiao In December

Floyd Mayweather announced to the world today that he intends on returning to face Manny Pacquiao in a rematch this December.

Mayweather hasn’t been seen inside the ring since August of 2017 – where he managed to TKO the MMA superstar Conor McGregor in ten rounds to bring his career total to a perfect 50-0.

From there, he seemed content to dip into a state of semi-retirement. He has said in the past that he won’t be fighting again but with a man of Floyd’s business savvy, you don’t really ever know.

In a rather bizarre turn of events, both he and Manny Pacquiao met in a nightclub in Japan (coincidence or not?) and in a post made to his official Instagram page, Mayweather confirmed that he is looking to set up a fight between the two.

Their first meeting was the most lucrative fight in the history of the sport and while the resulting bout was underwhelming to a lot of those who tuned in, it still was seen as a landmark event in boxing’s modern era.

Whether the pair actually decides to run it back this Winter remains to be seen but to be honest, I really don’t see why they wouldn’t.
