Canelo Alvarez Inks Massive $365 Million Five-Year DAZN Deal

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has put pen to paper on the richest deal in the history of combat sports with DAZN worth a minimum of $365 million.

The Mexican superstar managed to get the better of his rival Gennady Golovkin in their eagerly-anticipated rematch last month and with that,

Canelo will represent the biggest capture for the new streaming service who are looking set to take the world of combat sports by storm.

Alvarez’s deal will see him make a minimum of $365 million over the course of five years and ten fights – moving away from HBO since their decision to leave the business.

John Skipper, executive chairman of Perform Group, DAZN’s parent company, had the following to say on the deal being made.

“By bringing Canelo’s fights to DAZN, we will turn his pay-per-view success into a growth engine for subscribers — a truly transformational moment for our business and the entire industry.”

Canelo is scheduled to face British boxer Rocky Fielding on December 15 in his first defense of his newly-won WBA title.
