Breaking: Canelo Alvarez Vs. Daniel Jacobs Announced For Cinco De Mayo Weekend

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has been confirmed to face Daniel Jacobs in a title-unification bout in Las Vegas on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Canelo was last seen in action in October as he battered Rocky Fielding on the way to a third-round TKO victory. The fight stood as the first on his deal with streaming service DAZN and came after his duo of showdowns with the formerly-unbeaten Gennady Golovkin.

Now, IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs is next in line, a man who fought and lost to Golovkin in the past – falling on the receiving end of a unanimous decision to GGG back in 2017.

In the time since, Jacobs has gone 3-0 – most recently defeating Serhiy Derevianchenko in October to set him up for what is most certainly the biggest test of his career.

The fight between Canelo and Jacobs has been set for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be contested on Cinco De Mayo weekend – or May 4, to be exact and will stand as the second bout on the Mexican’s superstar’s DAZN deal.
