Simon Zebo couldn’t prevent his Racing 92 side from falling to defeat at the Kingspan Stadium as Ulster kept their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Heineken Champions Cup alive thanks to a brilliant 26-22 Jacob Stockdale inspired victory.
Zebo only lasted 40 minutes and he didn’t return to the pitch for the second half as according to reports, he was carrying an injury as the match approached the interval.
It wasn’t the return to Irish shores that Zebo would have wanted and despite outscoring Ulster four tries to three, the home side managed to secure a four-point victory.
For the Parisian side, their fate is in their own hands, a victory at home to Scarlets next weekend will guarantee them top spot in Pool 4 thanks to their two-point haul in Belfast.
Zebo will hope to be fit for that clash but a message posted on social media suggests he wasn’t happy with his experience in Belfast on Saturday afternoon.
“A tough place to play but great team spirit from the brothers, important 2 points on the road. Also, I hope my ears deceived me with some comments directed my way from the crowd..#NotOn
Ulster face a trip to Welford Road to take on the Leicester Tigers next weekend in a bid to secure qualification for the last eight of the competition.
