Leinster and Ireland winger Jordan Larmour is one of the top rising talents in Irish rugby as his stock continues to soar thanks to stand-out performances for both his country and his province.
2018 was an incredible career for the 21-year-old whose list of accolades included winning the Guinness PRO14 Young Player Of The Year, being nominated for World Rugby’s Breakthrough Player of 2018 as well as an Ireland debut, a Six Nations and Grand Slam, a provincial double with Leinster and a victory over the All Blacks.
As an integral part of the Ireland and Leinster squads, Larmour will be looking ahead to 2019 with province and country as he continues his rise to the very top of the rugby world.
In the first of a three-part miniseries created by Energia, Official Energy Partner of Leinster Rugby, Larmour tells of his teenage years, revealing his ambitions and motivations as he rose through the schools’ rugby programme with St Andrew’s before being recruited for the Leinster Academy and quickly thereafter the senior squad.
Larmour explains “Growing up as a kid, and all through school, it’s all I ever wanted to do. I wanted to be a professional rugby player”.
“When I got the call from Leo, I was going to start and get my first cap, it was just a really special day for me and my family”.
“Every time you get an opportunity to put on the blue jersey you just want to take it. It’s why we play the game, we want to win. Once you get that taste for it, you just want more of it.”
