Leinster have today confirmed that some key individuals are carrying knocks and therefore will not take part in tomorrow’s crucial Heineken Champions Cup Clash with Toulouse.
It was reported earlier in the week that the province’s captain and World Rugby Player of the Year, Johnny Sexton would miss out at the RDS and be replaced by Ross Byrne.
That has proven to be the case as Sexton continues to rehab a tendon issue in his knee that he picked up in that feisty encounter with Munster two weeks ago.
Devin Toner also failed to make the match-day squad as he continues his return from a minor ankle injury.
Robbie Henshaw returned to full training this week after injuring his hamstring before the November test series win over Argentina, however, this weekend’s game comes a little too soon for the centre.
Dan Leavy will also miss out this weekend after picking up a calf injury in training, whilst Rob Kearney – who captained the side last week – picked up a low-grade quad injury and has been withdrawn from selection.
Leinster welcome French giants, Toulouse to the RDS tomorrow in round five of the Heineken Champions Cup. The top of the table clash will go a long way towards finding out who will clinch a home quarter-final.
