IBF and WBA lightweight champion Katie Taylor will defend her titles against Kimberley O’Connor in London on July 28th.
Taylor’s fight has been added to the undercard of the heavyweight clash between Joseph Parker and Dillian Whyte and will take place in the O2 arena.
The 37-year-old Connor, who hails from Little Rock, Arkansas, and boasts a decent professional record of 13-3-2 (5KOs), is ranked third in the world at lightweight by both the WBA and IBA and will be Taylor’s first defence of both her lightweight titles.
Taylor is 10-0 in her professional career and will undoubtedly be coming into this bout in London as the favourite as she looks to preserve her perfect record.
Should Taylor defeat Connor, as expected, she could then face Irish-American mixed martial artist and former boxer Heather Hardy in what would be one of the most anticipated fights in recent memory.
