PA All-Star Team: Vote For Your Hurling Midfield Pairing

Ahead of the All-Star awards on November 2nd, Pundit Arena are asking you to vote for who you think will make the lineup of both the hurling and football teams. In the next part of the series, we are asking: who will be part of the midfield pairing?

Nominee: Cian Lynch

County: Limerick

Credentials: When Cian Lynch burst onto the senior scene a number of years ago, many expected him to be the next messiah of Limerick hurling but he has since matured into the ultimate team player who still displays moments of individual brilliance. His contribution this season has been phenomenal.

Nominee: Darragh O’Donovan

County: Limerick

Credentials: The work rate of Darragh O’Donovan was exceptional this year. When he didn’t have the ball, he was working tirelessly to get it. Always popped up in the right positions and linked up extremely well with Cian Lynch and the forwards. Also has a great ability to score from distance.

Nominee: Colm Galvin

County: Clare

Credentials: Colm Galvin is probably a player who doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves for what he does for Clare, simply because we are so used to seeing him play at such a high standard. He is excellent at fielding, his vision and delivery is exceptional and is always good for a point or two in a game.

Nominee: Darragh Fitzgibbon

County: Cork

Credentials: Darragh Fitzgibbon remains the front-runner for Young Hurler of the Year. Given the level of skill, physicality and talent he has already, it’s could become one of the best Cork players in modern times. Missed out on silverware this year but there’s plenty more to come for him.

Nominee: James Maher

County: Kilkenny

Credentials: Along with TJ Reid, James Maher was probably the most eye-catching outfield player for Kilkenny this summer. With the standard of hurling this year, he was underrated from those outside the county but he had an outstanding season with a fantastic performance against Galway.

Nominee: David Burke

County: Galway

Credentials: The Galway captain has always been the reliable man-in-the-middle who delivers time and again. His work rate is incredible and covers a huge amount of ground every game. He is so physical and hunts down every ball while he is so comfortable shooting from a distance.

Who will be the first All-Star midfielder?

Who will take the other midfield slot? (Must not be the same as previous selection).
