David McGoldrick With Tidy Finish To Give McCarthy Food For Thought

David McGoldrick has scored his sixth goal of the season for Sheffield United as he put his side 1-0 up in Friday night’s EFL Championship clash with West Brom at Bramall Lane.

McGoldrick scored with just 12 minutes on the clock after he received a through ball and held off a defender before dispatching a cool finish into the bottom corner beyond the West Brom goalkeeper.

Considering McGoldrick used to play under Mick McCarthy at Ipswich Town, the newly-appointed Republic of Ireland manager may call upon the striker to help solve’s Ireland’s goal scoring problems which have proved costly of late.

West Brom have since equalised through Gareth Barry as the sides go into the second-half with a goal apiece.
