The Swedes were victorious last night, defeating the Portugal U21 squad to claim the U21 Euro 2015 championship. And they had some time to gloat too.
Sweden have been fantastic this tournament, both on and off the pitch. For anyone who hasn’t seen it already, be sure to check out John Guidetti giving it large after Sweden beat Denmark in the semi-finals.
But, going back to the final itself, Sweden used it as a chance to exact some further revenge on a player they felt had wronged them, over eight months ago. Kurwaza scored against Sweden in a Euro U21 qualifier to nearly secure France’s trip to the tournament, but Sweden fought back and one, sending them to the Finals they’d eventually win.
After scoring against Sweden in , Layvin Kurzawa of France decided to do a bit of taunting and well, it completely backfired. Not only did they take the piss out of Kurzawa that night in October, they had a bit of a throwback during the celebrations, breaking out the salute with the entire squad and management team.
So, no matter what poor Kurzawa does for the rest of his career, this is sticking with him.
