Jonathan Walters Close To Ipswich Return On Loan Deal

Ipswich Town are close to securing a loan deal for Jonathan Walters from Burnley, according to reports this afternoon.

The Republic of Ireland international had an impressive spell with the club between 2007 and 2010, scoring 30 goals in that period, before making the move to Stoke City.

Walters has been with Burnley since last season but is struggling to make an impression at the club. He was left out of the squad for their trip to Olympiacos last week, prompting him to tweet, ‘I miss football”.

According to reports, Ipswich and Burnley are likely to finalise terms over a five-month loan deal before the end of the summer transfer window on Friday.

Ipswich are struggling at the bottom of the Championship, with just two points from five games.
