Sports Doc Of The Week – 26 Years: The Dewey Bozella Story (Boxing)

In the third of our new weekly series of sports documentaries, Jonathan Abbott discusses ‘26 Years: The Dewey Bozella Story’.

This inspirational story features Dewey Bozella whom had to fight for his freedom for 26 years.

Why? He was wrongly convicted of a murder in 1983, spending 26 years of his life behind bars as an innocent man in a New York prison. Before he entered prison, Bozella was a talented young Boxer, a Sport he never got to pursue because of his incarceration for this lengthy period.

Dramatically, this documentary follows Bozella in his 50’s pursuing his dream of still having just one professional fight.

There really isn’t anything else to say. It’s a fantastic documentary so we’ll shut up now. Sit back and enjoy.
